eKonto is a well-established online payment service available in the Czech Republic offered by Raiffeisen Bank, a member of the Austrian Raiffeisen Group. Consumers need to have a bank account with Raiffeisen Bank or eBanka to use this service.
Consumers to the online shop select eKonto as payment method and are redirected to a secure checkout page. They log in using their personal online bank security details. After a successful login, a form will open containing all relevant details of the purchase as well as the automatically uploaded shopping basket contents from the online shop. All the consumer needs to do is authorize the transaction using a TAN (transaction authentication code). If there are insufficient funds available on the consumer's account, the transaction will be refused.
